Choosing a truck that suits the work

Heavier contracts may call for something in the 7.5T or 18 tonne (18T) range, so think about gross weight as well as floor space before you commit. Rental periods are flexible too, a single week covers most short projects, and longer agreements can be arranged where a job runs on. Tell us what the vehicle must do

The more we know, the better the recommendation. Describe the cargo, its weight, shape and whether it needs weather protection, along with how many people will travel in the cab and where the truck will actually be loaded and unloaded. Tight yards, low bridges and narrow lanes all influence which model makes sense. If you're unsure between categories, say so; our hire team can talk through the alternatives and suggest something appropriate or a close equivalent.

Getting the terms straight before you book

Once a vehicle is in mind, run through the practicalities. Confirm your hire dates, how the mileage option works, the standard insurance excess and which drivers will be named on the agreement. If you need the truck dropped off, collected from another site, or taken across to Europe, raise it early, these arrangements affect both the paperwork and the price. Nothing gets locked in until you've seen the full terms, so ask about anything that isn't clear.
